4-Day vs 7-Day Kayak Course in Rishikesh: Which Should You Choose?
What each course teaches, which grade of rapids you'll reach, cost per day, and which one suits your goals.
Updated

Both courses start in the same place: the riverbank, with someone who has never sat in a kayak. They finish at very different levels. Here's how to choose.

|---|---|---|
| Price per day | ₹3,499 | ₹2,999 |
| Full course | ₹13,996 | ₹20,993 |
| You finish on | Class II, by yourself | Class III, leading your own trip |
| Roll | First roll in calm water, then practice in moving water | Reliable calm-water roll by day 4, combat roll on day 6 |
| Extra skills | Eddy turns, river crossings | Eddy hopping, ferrying in strong current, scouting rapids from the bank |
| Video review | When available | Every day |
| Fitness | Average is fine | Moderate. Days 5–7 are tiring |
| Hours a day | 3–4 hours each morning | |
| Group size | Up to 5 students per instructor | |
Choose the 4-day course if…
- You want to try whitewater kayaking properly but you're short on time.
- Running a Class II rapid by yourself is a good result for you.
- You plan to come back later for more.
Choose the 7-day course if…
- You want to keep kayaking after the course, with friends or on our guided river days.
- You want the combat roll: rolling back up in rough water after being knocked over.
- You'd like time to learn the roll. It's the skill most people find hardest, and three extra days make a big difference.
- You want the best value per day. Each day costs ₹500 less, so three extra days and a jump to Class III cost about ₹7,000 more in total.
Why is the longer course cheaper per day?
A slower pace lets us teach a wider mix of students in each group, and the extra days give the roll time to sink in. You don't get less teaching. You get more days and a bigger finish.
Can I start with 4 days and continue?
Ask us when you book. Many students finish the 4-day course wanting more, and if your plans change, it's easier to move you onto the longer course at the start.

Which kayak course is best for beginners in Rishikesh?
Both start from zero. Pick the 4-day course if you're short on time, and the 7-day course if you want to keep paddling afterwards.
